

Mr. True was born on December 14, 1922 in Medford, Massachusetts to his parents, Frederick and Dorothy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy, married 57 years; his daughter, Cheryl Lucille Laird; his identical twin brother, George; and his younger sister, Carol. Mr. True is survived by his son Robert True and his wife Marcy; his son Richard E. True and his wife Ann-Marie; his six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.
Dick grew up in Reading, Massachusetts. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a Company Clerk serving in the Pacific Theater along with his twin brother during the years 1942-1945. He and George were transported to Okinawa aboard the USS Gerrard on its maiden voyage. When he returned, he married the love of his life, Lucille May Artman on April 16, 1945 in Spokane, Washington. Mr. True worked as an Insurance Auditor and Manager for Commercial Union Assurance Companies for 35 years. His Boston based job relocated him to Washington State, the Bay Area, and eventually to Southern California where his family resides. He was known by many for his quick wit, infectious laugh, love for baseball, dancing, and his time spent casted in many plays as the leading man in the Chanticleer's Palomares Playhouse Theater in Castro Valley, California.
A graveside service will take place on Monday, November 23, at 11:00 a.m. Mr. True will be buried at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton, California.
