

Rosemary A. Fix, age 90, died surrounded by her family on Monday, July 10, 2017 in Fullerton, CA Rosemary Augusta Jenkins was born June 17, 1927, the oldest of four children, to J. Charlie and Helen Williams Jenkins in Lewiston, Idaho. She married her high school sweetheart, Oliver W. Fix, on August 26, 1945. She then entered nursing school, through the Cadet program of World War II, graduating in 1948, as an RN, while her husband was away in the Navy. Rosemary and Oliver moved to Seattle, WA in the fall of 1948, where she was a nurse for five years while Oliver attended Air Force ROTC at the University of Washington. In May of 1948, Oliver graduated and was commissioned. In June, Rosemary became pregnant with their first child, and in July, she contracted polio. After recovering, they moved to NY state. They lived in New York, New Mexico, Ohio, California and Hawaii during their life as an Air Force family. She also travelled extensively as a result of her work with the American Baptist Church, involved with International Ministries. She also served on the boards of American Baptist Women of the Pacific Southwest, the Children’s Baptist Home in Los Angeles, and Rainbow Acres in Arizona. She was accomplished at needlepoint, teaching classes and creating original designs. She also enjoyed RVing with her husband. Rosemary is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Col. Oliver W. Fix, USAF. She is survived by daughters Cheryl (& Robert) Fecht, and Karen (& Ed) Curry, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, July 29 at Sunrise of Fullerton, 2226 N. Euclid St., Fullerton, CA 92835.
