

Sarah was born and raised in Lexington Nebraska, graduated from Lexington High School, and later attended Nebraska Wesleyan University. After moving to California, she met Dennis Alevizon while working at Disneyland and they were married in 1961. They raised 3 sons (Michael, Steven, and Mark) in Anaheim, CA. While raising a family, Sarah was amazingly active in family activities, the community, and church services.
She finished college and graduated with honors from Chapman University. She was an active tennis player player and won several doubles tournaments. Her tennis team represented Southern California in a Volvo National tennis tournament and finished second in their division. She also played piano and was an avid reader. Sarah and Dennis were later divorced.
In the late 1990's, She later married Robert (Bob) Hernandez, whom she met while both were active in community organizations. They resided together in Anaheim Hills until her recent death.
Sarah's community services were extensive and well recognized. She was a long time member to Anaheim Hills Community Counsel and co-chaired the annual Fourth of July Parade and Beauty Pageant. She served on 6 community organization executive boards and was active in 4 other civic groups along with San Antonio Catholic Church committees. Her community services were recognized by the City of Anaheim when a "Sarah Alevizon Day" was commemorated followed by a dinner celebration.
Sarah is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Hernandez, son Michael Alevizon and his wife Carla, son Steven Alevizon and his wife Lisa, 4 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by son Mark Alevizon.
A private family graveside service will be held at Christ Cathedral.
