Wilbur passed away peacefully on October 13, 2012 surrounded by his family. Born on August 4, 1920 in Springfield, Missouri. "Wib", the youngest of five siblings, grew up in Missouri with 3 brothers and a sister. His life entailed enlistment in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He flew B-17s and B-24s, earning the rank of colonel while in the reserves. He then went into law enforcement working a total of 30 years for LAPD and the Pasadena police department. The only passion that was greater than his work was his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Diana, his daughter Pamela Clingan- Bowers (Phil) and son Jeffery Clingan (Carolyn) as well as four grandchildren, Brian Bowers, Tim, Molly, and Emily Clingan. He loved his St. Louis Cardinals and followed the Air Force football team year in and out. He tried every gadget possible to perfect his golf. His wit and kindness willbe missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20th at 2 PM at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary 902 N. Harbobr Blvd., Fullerton,CA. 92832.
