Adelaide O. Veroneau of Washington, D.C. died peacefully on May 17, 2018. Beloved aunt, friend and co-worker, Adelaide was born on June 23, 1930 in Springvale, Maine to Emory and Laura (Dupree) Veroneau. After graduating from Portland High School (Maine) and training as a Medical Secretary, she moved in 1959 to Washington, D.C. Adelaide worked for many years at the Yater Clinic and then at the Oakcrest School for more than a decade. She was a dedicated member of Opus Dei and approached life with a rare sense of selflessness and cheerfulness. Adelaide will be sorely missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving brother, Raymond, and their parents. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 12 pm at St. Ann Catholic Church, 4001 Yuma St NW, Washington, D.C. A viewing will take place at 11am at St. Ann’s prior to the Funeral Mass.
