Anne was born on August 30, 1937 to Mary Dineen Jennings and Martin Jennings in New York, New York. She graduated from Fordham University in 1959, married Timothy P. Kilcullen in 1960, and went on to have three children, Dennis Kilcullen of Kensington, Maryland; Maura Kilcullen of Canton, Massachusetts; and Sheila Kilcullen Darcey of Franklin, Massachusetts.
Anne had a great passion for helping others and chose a career in marriage and family counseling to pursue that passion. While raising her family, she earned three master's degrees – in Counseling Psychology, Family Therapy, and Social Work. Over many years, she worked in the Counseling Departments at both Catholic University and George Washington University in Washington, DC. She also had a private counseling practice for over 30 years.
Anne was an active volunteer in many organizations, including Leadership Montgomery; North Chevy Chase Connections; her local parish CFM group; and Hamlet Place, the close-knit community where she lived for the past 23+ years.
Anne loved reading, knitting, watching movies, and spending time with her friends and family, particularly her six grandchildren, Abigail, Emma, Ian, and Sean Kilcullen, and Ryan and Shannon Darcey. She also eagerly looked forward to visits from extended family and long-time friends when they passed through the area.
Anne was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her sister Kathleen Jennings Schaefer. She is survived by her brother Martin Jennings, her three children, daughter-in-law Angela Kilcullen, son-in-law Timm Darcey, and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating any amount to one of these charities chosen by Anne's children: Direct Relief, which provides PPE to medical personnel, or Feeding America, which provides food for those in need.
