Ayodeji Larmie was called to be with the Lord after a short battle with cancer on October 19, 2024. He entered this world on February 25,1981 in Lagos, Nigeria. He was welcomed by his loving parents Emmanuel and Irene Larmie and aptly named Ayodeji meaning “Double Joy.” After graduating from University of Maryland in College Park, he built his career with the National Institutes of Health.
Hard work and perseverance allowed him to travel the world. His love of music is clear by his vast music collection. Ayo was a peaceful soul, always cool, calm and collected. His love for life, family and friends was felt by all who knew and loved him. His commitment to excellence was a cornerstone of his life. He could be found pumping iron any day of the week. He loved hard and showed his love in every way. Ayo was kindhearted, determined and honest. His laughter was infectious, and his smile would light up the room.
He took his job as a son, brother, uncle and friend seriously. Ayo is survived by his parents, sisters Abigail, Yvette and Bukky, brothers-in law Abeeku, Albert and John, niece Maame and nephews Kobi and Albee. Scores of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends join us in mourning the loss of this great man. His quiet wisdom and gentle spirit will be sorely missed.
A visitation will be held at Norbeck Memorial Park Chapel, 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, Maryland on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a memorial contribution in Ayodeji's name please direct any inquiries to the family.
He will never be forgotten!
