Beatriz Navarro

Beatriz Isabel Navarro, age 83 of Derwood, MD, passed away on September 26, 2025, at her home. She was born on October 12, 1941, in Barranquilla, Colombia, the daughter of Maria Leticia Escalante de Navarro and Rafael Antonio Navarro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jorge Navarro, her sisters, Buena Navarro Borja, Olga Navarro de Barraza, Carmiña Urzola, and Ana Navarro; and her Godmother, Alvena Consuegra.

She is survived by her sisters, Maria Paulina Navarro of Rockville, Marlene Navarro de Fragozo of Caracas, Venezuela, Alvena Linda Navarro of Miami, and Zenith Pierola of Gaithersburg; her children: Alex (Aracely) Salamanca of Germantown and Leticia Salamanca of Derwood; 2 grandchildren: Letty (Isaac) Booth, and Michael Salamanca; and 1 great-grandchild: Samuel Booth; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Beatriz worked various jobs throughout her life, as a seamstress and fashion designer, babysitter, and secretary at the family tax office. Affectionately known as Mimi to all, she spent her years nurturing and tending to many children, her beloved chihuahua, and her vast collection of house plants. She loved watching telenovelas and chatting on the phone with her sisters for hours. She spent hours making memories with her family in the kitchen. The smell of her famous pan de jamón filled the room during the holidays. In her later years, she enjoyed all things health and wellness, scrolling on her tablet and doing word searches. Her infectious laugh and caring personality brightened everyone’s day. Her strong faith in God was her driving force and an inspiration to all who met her.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 E Deer Park Dr, Gaithersburg, MD 20877. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home. Information on the

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, su hermano Jorge Navarro, y sus hermanas, Buena Navarro Borja, Olga Navarro de Barraza, Carmiña Urzola y Ana Navarro; y su madrina, Alvena Consuegra.

Le sobreviven sus hermanas, María Paulina Navarro, de Rockville; Marlene Navarro de Fragozo, de Caracas, Venezuela; Alvena Linda Navarro, de Miami, y Zenith Pierola, de Gaithersburg; sus hijos: Alex (Aracely) Salamanca, de Germantown, y Leticia Salamanca, de Derwood; dos nietos: Letty (Isaac) Booth y Michael Salamanca; y un bisnieto: Samuel Booth; así como numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas.

Beatriz tuvo varios trabajos a lo largo de su vida, como costurera y diseñadora de moda, niñera y secretaria en la oficina de impuestos de su familia. Conocida cariñosamente por todos como Mimi, pasó sus años cuidando y atendiendo a muchos niños, a su querida chihuahua y a su colección de plantas. Le encantaba ver las telenovelas y charlar por teléfono por horas con sus hermanas. Pasaba horas creando recuerdos con su familia en la cocina. El aroma de su famoso pan de jamón inundaba el aire durante las fiestas navideñas. En sus últimos años, disfrutaba de todo lo relacionado con la salud y el bienestar, pasando tiempo en su tableta y haciendo sopas de letras. Su risa contagiosa y su personalidad cariñosa alegraban el día a todo el mundo. Su gran fe en Dios era su fuerza motriz y una inspiración para todos los que la conocían.

Los servicios funerarios se celebrarán el martes 30 de septiembre de 2025 en la funeraria DeVol Funeral Home, situada en 10 E Deer Park Dr, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.
