Charles J. Chuck Simpkins

On Friday, June 22, 2018, Charles J. Simpkins (Chuck), a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal Service who resided in Adamstown, MD and formerly of Gaithersburg, MD  passed away at the age of 59.  Mr. Simpkins was a helicopter pilot and served in the MD National Guard.  He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth M. Simpkins; father of James Michael Simpkins; step-father of Jennifer Cavanaugh and Kimberly Phelps; son of Nancy Lounsbury; brother of James Jody Simpkins and Donna Jean Hall; grandson of John Philip Guy.  Chuck is also survived by many beloved grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Friends may call at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 E. Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at Derwood Bible Church, 16011 Chieftain Avenue, Derwood, MD on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 11 a.m.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, www. stjude.org.
