Chau Kee Lam

Chau Kee Lam, 74, of Gaithersburg, Maryland entered Heaven’s gates on February 20, 2017, at the Adventist Healthcare Shady Grove Medical Center. She was born on July 26, 1942, in Fuzhou, China, to her mother Rixian Wang.

Chau Kee spent her youth and received her education in China. She migrated to Hong Kong and then to the United States in her late twenties. She was a consummate and kind mother who was an excellent cook, and she enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She had been engaged in the U.S. restaurant industry for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed crafts, Chinese cooking, gardening, reading, and simply spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: sons Kui-Leung Yim of Gaithersburg, MD, Kui-Sin Yim of Northville, MI, and Kui-Sun Yim of Novi, MI; daughter-in-laws Liwen Hu, Sue Yim, Yan Lai Shen;  and six grandchildren: Jeffrey Yim, Wesley Yim, Angela Yim, Stephanie Yim, Henry Yim, and Alexandra Yim.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 10:00 a.m. at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD.  The family will be there until 11:30 a.m. to greet relatives and friends. Burial will be at Washington National Cemetery, Suitland, MD.
