Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuemeke Anekwe

Emmanuel C. Anekwe, 74, died Thursday, March 11, 2021 at his daughter’s place of residence in Bowie, Maryland where he was cared for. He was born in Kano, Nigeria and grew up in Awka, Nigeria. He ventured to America to pursue his college education. He attended Mankato State University in Minnesota, where he received his B.S. degree in Biology in 1979 and earned a M.S. degree in Community Health in 1980. He attended Saint Louis University in Missouri, where he received his PhD in Public Policy in 1991.

Emmanuel had a very strong work ethic and worked hard to support his family.

He is survived by his loving family, wife, Caroline Anekwe and his five children, Kanayo, Ifeoma, Emeka, Njideka, and Chuba. He is also survived by his sister in Nigeria, Ngozi Adibua and his niece and nephews.

A private visitation will be held at DeVol Funeral Home on Wednesday March 31, 2021 at 2:30 pm
