Emily Louise Austin

We are heartbroken to announce the death of our Mother, Emily Louise Austin (nee Richardson). Emily passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2024 at the age of 90, just shy of her 91st birthday in Rockville, Maryland surrounded by family.

Emily was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years James R. Austin, parents Ralph and Louise Richardson, and brother R. Daniel (Dan) Richardson and, she was also preceded by her daughter Elizabeth (Beth). Emily is survived by three children; James R. Jr., (Lisa), Susan, and Linda, as well as a younger brother William (Bill). Emily also leaves six grandchildren, eleven greatgrandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many friends. Emily was employed for many years with the Montgomery County District and Circuit Courts as the Judges Secretary.

In addition to her travels with the grandchildren, Disneyworld, hockey games in Texas, on safari in Africa, cruising in Alaska, England, Ireland, as well as many excursions with Jim to the Caribbean, Hawaii, New Zealand, and Spain to name a few.

Graveside services and interment were held at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Maryland on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
