On Wednesday, January 13, 2021, Evelyn Louise (Clapper) “Sam” Stambler, 63 of Gaithersburg, MD passed away at Manor Care-Chevy Chase. Born in Syracuse, New York on February 24, 1957, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Viva Mae (Russell) Clapper. Evelyn served as an Aerographer’s Mate in the United States Navy. She is survived by her husband Carl B. Stambler, three children, Jennifer Scribner, Patrick Stambler and Crystal Thornton, eleven grandchildren, Sydney, Derek, Julianna, Chloe, Patrick, Jr., Sawyer, Ty, Cosette, Kayla, Harley and James, two sisters, Gerrie Clapper and Ellie Wiers and a brother Lewis Clapper. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held virtually from Covenant United Methodist Church, 20301 Pleasant Ridge Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20886 on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 3 p.m. (Please continue to check for the updated link).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, COVID-19 Response Fund, or to the Maryland Food Bank.
