George William Beall

A proud Washingtonian, George was born and raised in the Brookland neighborhood of northeast Washington, D.C. George was a 1955 graduate of St. Anthony's High School and later earned a B.A. degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. He married Barbara ("Bobby") Edlund in 1962 and they raised three children together. George worked for IBM for much of his career and then later worked as an auditor for Montgomery County Public Schools. George and Bobby also owned an antiques business and spent many weekends looking for treasures to fill their various antique booths. They loved to travel and especially enjoyed visiting the beach. George volunteered many hours with Educational Systems Federal Credit Union, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and The Compassionate Friends. He will be best remembered for his chatty, easygoing attitude and ready smile.

A beloved husband, father and Poppy, he is survived by his wife Bobby, son Patrick, daughter Diana, son-in-law Steven Schweinfurth and grandchildren Laura and Kevin Schweinfurth. He was predeceased by daughter Barbara Lynn Beall.

A funeral Mass will be offered at 11 o'clock on Monday, September 22nd at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Derwood, MD. He will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at Mount Saint Mary's Cemetery in Emmitsburg, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be welcome to the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
