Janice Elizabeth Borgen

Janice Elizabeth Borgen, 77, of Germantown, MD passed away to be with her savior on December 31, 2023. She was born on September 25, 1946 to Paul Hastings Sr. and Grace Lagomarsino in Washington DC. She was a graduate of Northwestern High School and completed some college in her later years.

Janice grew up in an orphanage, formerly known as The Baptist Home For Children in Bethesda Maryland during her formative years until she was taken in and raised by her aunt Rosa Lagomarsino. She met her first husband, Carl Meushaw, and this marriage resulted in the birth of her eldest son Brian Meushaw and her daughter Tamara Medina. After the resolution of that union, she met her soul mate Henry Borgen, remarried, and gave birth to her youngest son Mark Borgen.

Her greatest joys in life were being a wife and mother. She was a devout christian who loved the Lord and dedicated her time to studying the word, reading the Bible front to back multiple times over. She had a strong affinity for animals, especially cats. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her family and grandchildren.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Henry Borgen, her brother Paul Hastings Jr., and her son-in-law Richard Gonsalves. She leaves behind her children Brian Meushaw, Tamara Medina and her husband Clarence Tombo, Mark Borgen and his wife Michelle Borgen, and Gloria Gonsalves; Grandchildren Evan Medina, Charlee Borgen, Henryk Borgen, Walter Borgen, and Sarah Hess; Sisters Carole Sydnor, Joan Harley, and Grace Tonstad. She also leaves behind a brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.

Janice’s celebration of life will be held on January 13, 2024 at DeVol Funeral Home, located at 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20877. Viewing will begin at 10:00am, immediately followed by a memorial service at 11:00am.
