

Jean Pierre Leduc beloved husband of Svetlana Nour, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at the age of 66. Jean Pierre was born in the loving family of Jean and Emilienne Leduc in the town of Jemappes, in the province of Hainaut in Belgium in April 1955. Jean Pierre grew up in Belgium, where he attended high school and university. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering & Telecommunications from the Faculté Polytechnique de Mons in Belgium. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University in New York, followed by a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from Université Catholique de Louvain.
Jean Pierre started his career as a Systems Engineer in Mobile Data Radio Communications but soon moved into academics as an expert and researcher in the field of Digital Signal Processing. He started his research career at RISA - INRIA (Institut de Recherche en Informatique et Systèmes aléatoires) in Rennes, France. This work brought him to the United States in 1996 when he moved to the Center for Signal and Image Processing at Georgia Tech. Jean Pierre served as research faculty at several premier academic institutions including the Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Maryland at College Park collaborating with scientists and professionals from NATO, U.S. Air Force, and DARPA. He is a well published author with his research published and presented in several international forums. As recently as 2018, Jean Pierre founded a company to revolutionize the physical security industry by creating a comprehensive Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM) System driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI). He was awarded four patents related to this innovative technology.
Amongst the people whose life he touched, Jean Pierre will be remembered for being a humanist who served our area by providing home care services through his company Reliance Home Care that he started in 2005. He truly cared about the elderly community that he served, and the caregivers with origins in far flung areas of this world. His love for serving his community was matched by his love for learning. He was a true polymath whose knowledge and interests extended from sciences to the history of medieval Europe. Jean Pierre will be missed by all.
Jean Pierre leaves behind his beloved wife Svetlana Nour, and her extended family in Romania. He also leaves behind his many friends, colleagues and admirers.
