Jerome “Jerry” Bourgeois, 39 years old, of Bethesda, MD, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. He was a beloved son and brother. Jerome is survived by his mother, Virginia “Gina” Bourgeois, sister Marie-Joelle Bourgeois, brother-in-law Jason Trepanier, brother Louis Bourgeois, brother Sebastian Bourgeois, and father Henry Bourgeois.
Born in Venezuela, at one year old Jerry moved to Silver Spring, MD. He attended the Leadership Training Institute at John F. Kennedy High School. He then attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, majoring in film production. An accomplished screenwriter, director and producer, he formed LIAM (Life Is A Movie) Productions and was also a co-creator of the Movers & Shakers Unlimited series. As a filmmaker & entrepreneur with a focus on high-profile events, he was a finalist with Milinda Jefferson for a Sundance/YouTube "Life in a Day" documentary. He also filmed projects at many major events, including the DayTime Emmys, Superbowl red carpets, and the GI Film Festival.
Jerry was also very interested in the financial world and worked at Capitol One Bank and TD Bank before joining Merrill Lynch Wealth Management as a Financial Advisor.
An avid (some would say rabid) comic enthusiast, Jerry excelled in Marvel and DC Comics film trivia and was a frequent attendee at Comic-Con. An amateur poet, he often entertained close family and friends with funny, extemporaneous rap lyrics. He had a warm heart, infectious laugh, and lifted everyone’s spirits with his perpetually positive outlook on life.
Jerry had a very close relationship with his mother and sister, and they are heartbroken. Jerry’s family here and abroad are devastated by this sudden loss. His grandmother, aunts and uncles, many nieces, nephews, and cousins will miss his big smile and warm, positive personality.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM followed by a celebration of Jerry’s life will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m ET held at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20877. If you are unable to attend, the family invites you to watch via Zoom: Click Here to watch recording
