John Edward Cronin

We are heartbroken to announce John (63) passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Beloved husband of 30 years of Ellen; father of Riley (Caroline) and Kara; brother of Richard (Cheryl) and Belinda. He is also survived by loving in-laws Kerry and Marty, and nieces and nephew Katie, Claire, and Brian, along with many loving friends.

John was born in Beaufort SC, grew up in Chesapeake VA, and made Silver Spring MD his home for over 40 years. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, particularly Formula 1 racing and the Tour de France. He had many interests and was a self-proclaimed expert in several things, especially the weather, rocket launches and U.S. History. His favorite activities included listening to music, walking on the beach, poker nights, bike riding, spoiling his dachshunds, hurricane chasing ("cane busting"), coin collecting, star gazing and enjoying time in Kitty Hawk, NC.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather to remember John at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 10103 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20902, on Thursday February 9, 2023, from 11 to noon, followed immediately by a funeral Mass.
