John Barry Jeffrey

John “JJ” Barry Jeffrey (aged 73) on Monday, October 5th 2020 passed away peacefully. Beloved husband for 41 years of Christine Mary Jeffrey (nee Ryan). He was the loving father of two sons, Sean Christopher Jeffrey (Heather) and Alexander Patrick Jeffrey (Laura). Beloved grandfather of Randy and Jake, who called him “Mr. Wonderful”. Loving brother-in-law of Pamela Ryan Alusick (Robert) and Anne Marie Ryan Ryan (Gregory). He loved his daughter-in-laws as his daughters and his sister-in-laws as his sisters. Loving uncle of Ellen and Jimmy Ryan. Predeceased by brothers Ronnie and Michael Jeffrey. Survived by his loving canine companion Abby. JJ loved spending time at the beach with his family, playing darts, stamp and coin collecting, chess, and watching the Washington Nationals. He was an avid history buff who enjoyed 50s music and B horror films. JJ was known for his quick wit and good sense of humor. 

The visitation will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 11701 Clopper Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878 on Thursday, October 8th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Due to the restrictions of COVID, those attending the visitation will be allowed to walk through the church as they pay their respects and will be asked to avoid gathering inside. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, October 9th at 10:30am at St. Rose of Lima. 

Interment will be held at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
