Justin Scoggin

Justin was raised in Valley View, Texas and graduated from Valley View High School in 2008. He attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, where he met the love of his life, Allie, and spent a semester abroad in London before graduating in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in English. Justin and Allie married in 2011 on Petit Jean Mountain in Arkansas. Justin taught high school English in Batesville, Arkansas for three years before convincing Allie to forgo caution in favor of adventure and optimism and move across the country to Seattle, where he began working in IT. Justin loved Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, but he graciously followed Allie to St. Louis in 2017 so she could attend law school. They moved to Washington, D.C. in 2020.

Justin loved the works of Tolkien, fine whiskey, and all things technology. He was most at home on the shore of a lake; he could patiently fish for hours despite not getting a single bite. Justin loved to camp and delighted in the warm glow of a campfire (the bigger the better). He was learning to play the guitar and had high hopes for the Seahawks this season.

Justin is survived by his wife, Allie Scoggin, and their French Bulldog, Pancho, whom Justin adored, as well as his mother Misty Rauschuber and stepfather Joe Rauschuber; father Brent Scoggin; Pepaw and Memaw, James and Dianne Wallace; brothers Cody and Ryan (Taylor); stepbrothers Jerad (Amber) and Jase (Kara); stepsister, Jamie (Jason); his in-laws, the Clays; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and friends from coast to coast.

A celebration of Justin’s life is planned for Saturday, September 16th from 4-6 PM at Creekview Venue, 4421 FM 455 W, Sanger, TX 76266.
