After 97 years of the Lord’s faithfulness throughout her life, Kay-Yat Pang (née Wang) peacefully entered into the presence and joy of our Heavenly Father on August 27, 2020. She was born to Wang Jian and He Tuan on March 22, 1923 in Xiamen, China. She was the oldest of seven children, four of whom preceded her in death. At age 14, Kay-Yat moved to the Philippines for better work opportunities. She began working as an in-home aide and regularly sends her earnings to her parents.
She married Edward Pang on June 6, 1954 and helped raise seven children with patience, discipline and humility over the succeeding years and assisted Edward with managing his business. She made caring for her family her sole vocation in life. She regularly held Bible Studies and Fellowship in her home.
Kay-Yat, Edward and their two youngest daughters immigrated to the United States in 1982. All of their children who had remained overseas soon followed and moved with their families to the United States. Their children count it as their greatest honor and privilege to care for them in their advanced years.
In addition to being a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Kay-Yat loved to read her Bible, pray, and spend time with family. She held an unwavering faith in God, devoted herself to humbly living a life that followed Jesus Christ and remained steadfast in worshipping Him even into her latter years.
Kay-Yat was preceded in death by her parents, Wang Jian and He Tuan, her loving husband, Edward Pang, and infant son, Jack Hong Pang. She is survived by her seven children, Betty Sy (Tiong Kang), Grace Pang, Ephraim Pang (Lisa), Esther Cagas (Elvis), Lydia Nah (Sui Cher), Rebekah Granger (Lawrence) and Lois Uy (Nelson); 23 grandchildren, Hans, Hannele and Haines Sy, Herschel Sanders (Gregory); Samuel (Rita); Sean (Ho Wai), Paul and Mark Pang; Hannah Stansberry (Malachi), Sarah, Deborah, Stephen and Diana Cagas; Vanya, Nathania, Joanne and Jessica Nah; Michael, Matthew and Kathryn Granger; and Bianca, Ivan and Bea Uy; 4 great-grandchildren; Lisette and Tarn Sanders; Chloe and Sophie Pang; numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
Kay-Yat was laid to rest on September 2, 2020 at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
