Leo was my best friend. We were born 10 days apart and lived next door to each other for many years . We attended the same elementary school and his and my parents vacationed together.we visited often in Maryland, Ohioand Florida and he was our Best Man at our Wedding. I will miss him.

I am blessed to have known Leo Andrew and the entire family from Beall Creek Court in Potomac to Vero Beach, Florida for over 30 years now. My thoughts and prayers are with his amazing family. Love you all!

Truly, our Colony Club family lost a vibrant, strong, caring individual whom, without a doubt, added so much personality to our group.  We will all miss Leo and will definitely join in song in his memory as we come together again at The Colony Club. At age 96 I have  been blessed to meet and become friends with a number of remarkable  men and women....some more memorable  then others...and in that latter group  I place Leo. I will remember  him in my prayers  as a true gentleman  and scholar.   Bill Molster

JoAnn and I first met Diane and Leo at the home of Jack and Pam Doser where we attended a Spiritual group meeting shortly after we moved to Maryland fromYorba Linda, California in 1979. We had just bought the Daughtry's home[ at 13013 Brandon Way Road--- an address that caused our 5 year old Bobby to ask "Do you mean we are moving to MY name???--because BOB looks like   13 0 13 !!] and were looking for friends. At this meeting we met a woman who JoAnn and I named "Busy Barry" because she explained to us that she had NO TIME for new friends. We never saw her again but through our common faith in Jesus we became fast friends with Diane and Leo

In the Spring of 1980, while we were just beginning to understand the vegetation in the beautiful yard the Daughtries had sold to us, Leo stopped in for a chat  on his way to his Montgomery Village office. One bush was still denuded of leaves. Leo asked quite politely "What WAS this?" We did not know and almost cut the large lovely bush down But we procrastinated. Sure enough... this Crepe Myrtyle bush was a "late bloomer" and produced a plethora of flower later in the season. 

Leo --- who was born and grew up in Gary, Indiana where as a child he and his friends used to run back and forth in the DDT spray -- had just sold his company which replaced heavy heavy canisters of oxygen which were dropped off at patient's homes and the empties, still the same weight, with a doer in the patient's home and one on the oxygen delivery truck. A brilliant idea of Leo's. His company sold for ~$5 million and Leo was off to a life of investing from his office in Montgomery Village and, as his family has written in his obituary: HIS WAS A LIFE WELL LIVED. 

For many years this lovely family were without grandchildren. But then God blessed them with a burst of SIX grandchildren [ with more coming???]. Diane has always been, and still is, the driving force in their Spiitual lives.God has blessed the Dilling family, Diane. Aren't you lucky you met so long ago on the ski slopes?

We were lucky to know Leo for 45 years and we love him dearly. We know, Leo, that you have transitioned from this life and now are in God's care. We love you still.🙏✝️🌈❤️🎈

JoAnn and I enjoyed Leo's crab feasts when we visited him and Diane in Lusby, Maryland with a 270 degree view of the water. One time, in particular, when Sr. Barbara was leading our retreat, a spunky crab climbed right of the BIG  pot  and was scrambling across the floor when Leo calmly and expertly picked it up and put it back in the pot where it stayed-put this time!

Dolores and Pablo Perillan were there. Pablo has died many years ago and Dolores has married his best friend Gideon Samid [ Gideon Samid@dqssciences.com or Dolores Gandarias at poetica21@aol.com]. Pablo and I both snored so we were "banished" by Vic Dillon to sleep on the porch! When we had our retreats in West Virginia there was no "porch" and I remember well Pablo on the top bunk and me on the lower bunk and Vic Dillon KICKING our bed EVERYTIME one of us started snoring. Not very good sleep those nights.

The crabs were delicious after a night in the open air!!!

Leo and Dianne loved our pool parties at The Colony Club in Vero Beach, Fl. where we both resided.  As was evident by both Leo’s and Diane’s participation, the pool gathering’s were a very nice and relaxing atmosphere!  When we had live music, and most all would be singing along, Leo came to me and said, “You know Bruce, this is the way it should be!  Friends getting together and singing and having a good time”!  I could see the sincerity and enjoyment in his eyes!!!  I knew Leo had a good heart!  We will miss Leo!  And thank you Leo for showing me “your warm heart, inner self”!!  🙏🏻❤️

My husband Dave and I knew and enjoyed time with Leo "BD" (before Diane).  Dave and Leo both taught at the Navy's Nuclear Power School in Bainbridge, MD.  Later years, we saw each other rarely due to distance. But we kept in touch after his marriage and followed along with their moves from upstate NY to the Mid Atlantic as well as with their growing family.  But our memories are most vivid in those early 1960s.
   Among those memories, especially at this time of year, was his passion for Notre Dame football.  It is hard to imagine a more committed fan - making it fun to banter with him about whether the Irish were superior to my OSU Buckeyes or not.  His other passion that comes to mind was his love of cars.  At this time that passion was for his new 1963 white Chevrolet Corvair convertible with it's red interior.  This was his pride and joy, and as I was reprimanded:  "Don't us a paper towel on the windshield!  It will scratch the glass." ;-)
   Leo, I know you loved Louis Armstrong singing "It's a wonderful world..."  Yes, indeed it is, but it is a little less bright without your personality and your bodily presence in it.  RIP my friend.
    We send our condolences to Diane and all of your family who will miss you beyond measure I'm sure.

I met Leo in1952 at the beginning of our freshman year at Horace Mann High School in Gary, Indiana.  We remained close friends for more than 70 years.  I have always been very grateful that he asked me to join him in 1980 in the successful company he started a few years earlier.  After the company was sold, we both retired but continued to be involved together in a few small business ventures.  I will never forget all the times we spent at the bay house working on repair and maintenance projects.  My wife Evelyn and I also enjoyed the crab feasts there, our visits with them in Vero Beach and many other times together.  Diane, my deepest condolences to you and your family.  I will miss Leo more than anyone can possibly imagine.

We were lucky enough to enjoy one of Leo’s crab feasts at the bay, not to mention the generous hospitality of both Mr. and Mrs. Dilling, with memories there we will cherish always! Dru enjoyed talking Navy and sharing book recommendations with Mr. Dilling as well.

The Dillings lived across the street from me when I was a child, and I had many memorable moments with them growing up. I watched Leo spend time with his children, giving them the love and support that they need, which formed a strong foundation for a successful family unit. Based on the life he led, I know that he is looking down upon us right now, and my thoughts go out to every member of his family during this difficult time.

I remember(I hope correctly) when he was going to start a firm that dealt with supplying Oxygen or such to companies or others.  Diane, who was a nurse who worked with me at the time, was naturally anxious and she insisted he could not do it until she had a freezer full of food (meat I think) so no one would go hungry.
