

It is with great sorrow that the family of Luis Fernando Cevallos Jarrin announces his passing on August 6, 2024. Rising from poverty, he became a true example for others of love and generosity, a true gentleman, and a devout Catholic committed to personal excellence.
Fernando was born on August 3, 1942, in Quito, Ecuador to Luis F. Cevallos and Marina Jarrin Parra. He was a proud member of the Ecuadorian Air Force and honorably served his native country. In 1978, he married the love of his life, Ines Wilma Rodriguez. They had three children: Rommel Fernando, Maria Veronica, and Silvia Michelle. In 1993, Fernando and his family made the move to the US, where he executed a role within the diplomatic corps of the Ecuadorian Air Force in Washington D.C.
Family meant everything to Fernando. He was a devoted husband and a nurturing father who prioritized the happiness and well-being of his loved ones above all else. Known for his wisdom and generosity, Fernando was a father figure not only to his children, but also to many in his extended family and community. He offered guidance to anyone in need and was a great source of comfort, earning him the respect and admiration of those who knew him.
Family reunions were the pinnacle of joy for Fernando, a time when he deeply valued the company of family and friends. He was renowned for his eloquent speeches, delivering them with profound wisdom and remarkable insight. The birth of his grandsons, Adam James in 2018 and Ethan Thomas in 2020, added to his legacy, bringing new joy to his life.
Fernando's unwavering spirit shone through his health struggles, as he remained steadfast for his family until his last days. His final birthday, celebrated with his family, marked the culmination of a life defined by virtue and faith.
Fernando is survived by his cherished wife of 46 years, Wilma, his son Rommel Fernando and daughter-in-law Luzmar, his daughters Maria Veronica, and Silvia Michelle, and his grandsons Adam James and Ethan Thomas, and will also be remembered by countless relatives and friends. Fernando’s legacy is one of love, wisdom, and unwavering strength and determination. His life was a shining example of what it means to be a great husband, father, friend, and gentleman. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 201 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg, MD 20877 on Friday August 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
