

Marjorie was born on April 25,1936 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Wilbur and Mary (Caldwell) Spaniol.
Marjorie graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1953, attended Sterling College, Kansas where she enjoyed traveling with the choir, including a trip to Iceland, and later graduated from Framingham State College, Massachusetts, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics.
Marjorie was married to Robert Dean Jarrett, Sr. for 42 years. They began their married life in Sterling,Kansas before moving to Lagrange, Illinois. They lived in Framingham and Marlborough Massachusetts before moving to Gaithersburg, Maryland. Robert passed away in February 2000. Marjorie leaves behind four children: Tamera (Martin) McMahon, Millis, MA; Terri (Andrew) Rice, Richland, WA; Robert Dean Jarrett, Jr (Sue), Wray, CO; Beth Jarrett, Richland, WA; 14 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.
Marjorie was a Home Economics teacher for a few years before joining Hewlett-Packard as an International Export Administrator. In the later years while working for Hewlett-Packard she and Robert enjoyed living and working from Vienna, Austria. While there they were able to travel and visit numerous countries.
Marjorie enjoyed using her sewing skills creating quilts and belonged to several quilting groups while living in Gaithersburg.
Marjorie was an active member of the Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Stephen Ministries, bell choir, and vocal choir. After moving to Sunrise Senior Home she led a popular Bible study group.
Marjorie’s funeral service will be held at Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church, 610 S Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm; with a visitation prior from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Parklawn Memorial Park, 12800 Veirs Mill Rd, Rockville, MD at 10:00AM.
