Maria Patricia "Pat" Lenz

Maria Patricia (Pat) Lenz, age 78, of Frederick, Maryland, formerly of Gaithersburg, Maryland passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 29, 2022. Born on June 6, 1944 in Wilmington, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Edward Franklin and Maria Bernadine Hackbarth Crossan. Pat attended Wilmington General Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1965. She enjoyed a long career as a Registered Nurse, working at several prestigious hospitals throughout her 47 year career. She had a passion for being around people, reading, and most of all, doting on her 5 grandchildren. Pat was preceded in death by daughter Adrienne Steuer and brother Edward Franklin Crossan, Jr. She is survived by her children, Matthew Lenz, daughter-in-law, Robin Lenz, John Lenz, son-in-law Andre Steuer, grandchildren Carter and Aidan Lenz, Alexandra, Anya, and Petra Steuer and brothers, J. Robert Crossan (Anne Marie), Joseph Edward Crossan (Diana).

Friends may join the family for a Welcoming Reception at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 200 S. Duke St., Shepherdstown, West Virginia 25443 on Saturday, September 10th, 2022 from 10-11am with Mass from 11-12pm. There will be a short walk behind the church for inurnment, followed by an outdoor reception with light refreshments.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scout Troop 1775. She was so proud of Matthew for taking on the role of Scout Master several years ago, and was looking forward to watching her youngest grandson, Aidan be awarded Eagle Scout later this year.
