Michael Fumai

Mike was born on June 7th 1957 in Mount Vernon, NY to Michael A. Fumai and Antoinette L. LaRotonda Fumai. He was raised in Yonkers, New York and graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University with a BS in Business. During his time there he played basketball and formed many lifelong friendships. On September 24th 1983 he married Lisa (Scott) Fumai. Their sons Scott and Michael were born in Stamford/Norwalk Connecticut where they bought their first home. MCI brought them to Rockville, MD in 1989 where their daughter Carly was born. In these 32 years, they have been blessed with many faithful and wonderful friends. Mike spent his early years coaching his three children. He loved all sports and raised his kids to follow in his steps as New York Fans. He also loved golf which he enjoyed with his sons and friends. He enjoyed cooking the “Sunday family meal”, traveling, hiking, and spending time with family. His motto was FAMILY FIRST.

Mike worked for Blue Ridge Networks as President and CEO and for Appguard as President and COO. After semi-retiring, he remained a consultant with Blue Ridge Networks.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Michael and Antoinette Fumai, his brother Frank Fumai, brother in law Tony Moreira, and father in law E. Robert Scott.

He is survived by his wife Lisa, sons Scott (Joelle Cokinos) Fumai, Michael Fumai, Carly Fumai, and grandson Carter Fumai. Sisters Linda (Peter) Spies and Michelle Moreira, sister in law Marcol Fumai, mother in law Eleanor Scott, brother in law Greg (Carol) Scott and several nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID restrictions a small service will be held for immediate family on January 6, 2021. We will have a celebration of his life at a later date.
