

TAYLOR, Richard Nelson, “Dick”, age 94, of Palisades Washington, DC passed awayearly Saturday morning, November 19,2022. Dick was born on November 27, 1927 toNina and Raymond Taylor in Washington, DC. Dick was raised in the BurleithCommunity of Washington, DC before moving to the Palisades Community ofWashington DC. After graduating from Western High School, Dick enlisted in the U,S,Army serving as P.F.C. until honorable discharge on December 30, 1947. Soon afterDick enrolled in American University (AU) joining his beloved Phi Sigma Kappafraternity, Epsilon Triton Chapter. Dick played baseball for AU from 1948 to 1952,earning awards and eventual induction into AU’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1972. Dick hada long and successful career in commercial real estate at Shannon & Luchs. Dickcoached various baseball teams for both Palisades Little League and Our Lady ofVictory’s (OLV) youth baseball teams, Dick was a parishioner at OLV church since 1940serving as an usher for several decades. Dick remained active with both his fraternityand beloved American University for decades. Dick was preceded in death by hisparents Nina and Raymond Taylor, his sister Shirley Burns of Towson, MD. Dick issurvived by his cousin Gerry Taylor of Charlottesville, VA and many nephews, childrenof his sister Shirley, as well as two grandnephews and one grandniece. Friends andfamily of Richard “Dick” Taylor are invited for 10:30 am visitation on December 1, 2022at Our Lady of Victory Church located at 4835 MacArthur Boulevard, NW, Washington,DC followed by a funeral Mass at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Victory Church.
