Rosemary (“Rosie”) deLorimier, aged 94, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, was born December 14, 1930 in Dyersville, Iowa and died December 26, 2024, after a peaceful two weeks in hospice care.
Rosie was one of nine children, and family was always important to her. She met the love of her life, Larry, in 1951, and after a quick period of dating, they married in December 1952. They were blessed to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary in 2022, 10 months prior to Larry passing. Their love of travel took them all over the world, including Germany, Austria and Paris, where she and Larry lived for two years. Rosie was a prolific journal writer, and her children have all enjoyed reading her muses over the last few months.
While Rosie had a few jobs outside the home over the years, her primary passion was that of mother to her five children and wife to Larry. She considered her family and her faith paramount in her life, and was always there to help out when asked, both by her family and community. She loved to play bridge, golf and tennis, and was involved in neighborhood garden and gourmet dinner clubs and activities involving her children. Her involvement in church groups rounded out all things important to her.
Rosie is survived by her five kids, Mary Kunkel, Rob (Kathi) deLorimier, Yvonne (Scott) Spencer, Teri (Tom) Stief, and Michelle (“Nacho”, dec.) Cordova, her ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Rosie’s honor to Montgomery Hospice or St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
