Terence Michael Murphy

Terry served with distinction in the United States Navy for 20 years – more than 10 of those years overseas on diesel and nuclear powered submarine patrols including both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.  He was a qualified scuba diver.  He retired from The Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer.

He and his loving wife, Kathy, shared 53 years of marriage filled with love and laughter.   Their three children, Terry, Krissy and Michelle will miss him beyond words.  His love for his grandchildren Noah, Sarah and Gabby was immeasurable.  They were his world.  He was so very proud of his kids and grandchildren.  He will be missed for his incredible sense of humor, love of the Far Side, the Simpsons, old movies, trips to the Village Green, delivery of donuts and surprise packages of cookies. 

Friends may call at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20877 on Monday, February 18, 2019 from 10 to 11 a.m. with funeral services to begin at 11 a.m.  Interment at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the University of Virginia Children's Hospital (https://healthfoundation.virginia.edu/ways-to-give).
