Thomas Hall Blankenship, age 92 of Derwood, MD died on February 8, 2024, at the Olney Assisted Living facility in Olney, MD. He was born May 8, 1931, to the late T. H. Blankenship and Lillian E. Cunningham of Billings, MT. He was predeceased by his wife of 31 years, Patrice Doherty Blankenship
After high school he joined the service and upon discharge attended college and went on to join the nuclear testing program in Nevada in 1955. In 1973 he was named director for the Atomic Energy Commission’s Nevada Operations Office. After retirement he worked for his wife’s real estate business Hallmark Homes Inc. He is survived by his beloved cousins Evelyn Schaller of Battlement Mesa, CO and Lillian Maack of Worden, MT. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Capital Caring Health, 3180 Fairview Park Drive #500, Falls Church, VA 22042 Mr. Blankenship will be buried in Boston, MA. There is no service planned.
