Virginia Fababaer Monroyo, 87, of Germantown, Maryland, entered into eternal rest on February 22, 2026. Born in Marinduque, Philippines, she was one of nine children of Pablo and Carolina Fababaer. In the late 1970s, Virginia immigrated to the United States with her family, first making a home in Washington, D.C., before settling in the Maryland suburbs. She built a long and dedicated career as a medical technician, retiring in 2003. Beyond her professional life, she found deep joy in baking and became well known for her beautiful wedding cakes and cherished Filipino desserts, which she lovingly shared with family and friends and eventually turned into a small business. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, generosity, and the sweet treats she delighted in preparing for those she loved.
Through the years, she shared her love and generosity with family in the Philippines, helping many of her nieces and nephews pursue their education. She was deeply involved in her church community, often volunteering her time and singing in the choir for many years. In her later years, Virginia found her greatest joy in caring for her granddaughter, Leanne Marie, whom she lovingly helped raise and watched over with pride.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Leonardo and his wife Mariecel, her granddaughter Leanne Marie, and her youngest son, Marlon. She is also survived by her brother, Pablito Fababaer, and her sisters, Erlinda De Belen and Linda Rendon, along with many nieces, nephews, in laws, and cousins in both the United States and the Philippines.
