
She was born in Savannah, GA., and was preceded in death by her husband, Laburn D. “Tony” Saxon, Sr.; and her parents, Shedrick and Bessie Dickerson.
She was Co-Founder of Fort Argyle Full Gospel Church, now House of Bread where she served as an Elder. Mrs. Saxon was retired from National Life Insurance Company, where she had served as a Secretary.
Betty was active in spreading the “Gospel” and worked tirelessly for her church.
She is survived by her son, Laburn D. “Little Tony” Saxon, Jr., (Tammie) of Savannah, GA; 3 daughters, Sandra Lynn Sims Burnsed (Freddie), Patricia Ann Nelms (Richard), and Tonya Nanette Geraca, all of Savannah, GA; half brother, Curtis E. Swinson, of Savannah, GA; 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 9, 2013 at 1:00pm at House of Bread, 909 Fort Argyle Rd. “Hwy. 204”, Savannah, GA. 31419 followed by a gathering at Uncle Shed’s Fish Camp.
