

Nell was a loving and caring person who always put others before herself. She was employed by Nabisco, Georgia Industrial Supply, Boiler Makers Union, and was a member American Business Women’s Association.
She was a longtime member of Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, because of her commitment to its ministry and her dedication to serving its members, Nell became known as “Miss Asbury”. She was president of the United Methodist Women; a member of the church Council, the Busy Bees, served as the church treasurer, was in charge of the church kitchen, and served in many other capacities. She had a great heart for helping children, the elderly and anyone in need. Her work was an integral part of the revitalization of Asbury Memorial in the 1990’s.
Nell was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elma Shearouse, Sr.; brother, John Shearouse, Jr.; sisters, Julia Lewis and Mildred Mullis.
She is survived by a sister, Penny Lane; grandsons, Joey (Cecile), and Tony (Cobi), Todd Brazzell; great granddaughters, Kiersti, Caydence, Camdyn, Alayna; a great great grandson, Jace, many nieces, nephews, other family and many friends, her loving church family and Rev. Billy Hester.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Fairhaven Funeral Home Garden City Chapel.
Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Billy Hester.
A Service to Celebrate Nell’s Life and what it meant to us will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church following the Graveside Service.
