

Mrs. Frankie Elliott Hodges, 84, of Savannah, passed away Tuesday at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Ga.
Frankie was born in Savannah, Georgia and was a dedicated wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother. Family always came first, and she had a great love for them. Today she is reunited with her beloved husband, William Thomas Hodges. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Bailey and Franklin Lawrence Elliott and her sister, Maree Zeigler.
Her memory lingers in the hearts of her three daughters, Claire (Andy) Dyches and Carol (David) Dyches all of Statesboro, Ga. , and Caren (Tim) Dubois of Jacksonville, FL., Four grandchildren, Caren Ann (Corey) Nunnally of Auburn, Ga., Jason (Angel) Dyches and David C. Dyches, III of Statesboro, Ga. , and Catherine (Michael) Thigpen of Lyons, Ga., great grandchildren, Ben Nunnally, Chelsea Nunnally, Brooke Dyches, Julianne Thigpen, and Adalynn Thigpen, and Beloved friend, Pat Coleman.
Mrs. Hodges was a life time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She was a member of Bonaventure Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Savannah Chapter #2 United Daughters of Confederacy. She spearheaded the restoration of the Confederate soldier’s graves in Laurel Grove Cemtery, was a life member of Disabled American chapter #8 Veterans Auxiliary and American Legion posts 184 auxiliary, Navy League Council 98, and was Navy leaguer of the year in 1992. She enjoyed fishing and swimming. Frankie was an avid gardener and had a love for the great outdoors.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, 200 Donehoo St., Statesboro, Ga. 30458 or to The Wounded Warrior Foundation, 3343 Peachtree Road NE, # M20, Atlanta, Ga. 30326, in memory of Mrs. Frankie E. Hodges.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014, 3:00 P.M., at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Savannah with Father William Willoughby, III officiating
The family will receive friends at the church following the service on Sunday.
A private inurnment will be held at Bonaventure Cemetery at a later date.
