He was born in Savannah, Ga., and was a graduate of Richard Arnold High School, and was a member of the First Assembly of God for over 40 years, prior to uniting with Trinity Church of God, in Garden City, Ga.
He was employed by Diamond Crystal Refinery, as a Fork Lift Operator.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Funk Strickland, 6 children, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, 3 daughters, Regina Hill, Tracy Hodges (Jason), and Heather Goode; a brother, Elmer Strickland, 3 sisters, Carolyn Otto, Frances Barber, and Helen Anderson.
Visitation: 1 – 2 p.m. Friday at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Crematory.
Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Friday in the Fairhaven Chapel, with Rev. Frank Gupton, and Rev. Cecil F. Gray, officiating.
