Coco Solorzano, beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished friend, and unforgettable spark of joy, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025. Born in Santa Ana, California, Coco’s radiant spirit lit up every room she entered, captivating hearts with her charm, laughter, and delightful clumsiness that endeared her to all.
Coco’s early education took place at Woodbury Elementary, followed by St. Barbara Catholic School, and concluded at Santiago High School. It was during these formative years that Coco developed her zest for life, radiating warmth and joy that would carry on for years to come.
In 1986, Coco found her soulmate, Fernando "Big Daddy" Solorzano, while they were working together at Alpha Beta Grocery Store. Their fortuitous meeting blossomed into a loving marriage that spanned 36 wonderful years. Together, they raised three beautiful children: Brittany, Ishi, and Jack, instilling in them the values of love, laughter, and the importance of family ties.
Coco dedicated 32 years to her role as a mail carrier, a vocation she pursued with gratitude and commitment, retiring in January of 2022. She often brightened the days of those she met on her route with her infectious smile and quick wit, becoming a beloved figure in the hearts of her community.
Most fondly remembered for her smile that could light up the darkest days, Coco had a laugh that rang true with pure happiness. Her signature eye rolls became a cherished part of her identity, speaking volumes without uttering a word, eliciting joyous chuckles from family and friends alike.
Coco's passions brought her immense joy. An avid San Diego Chargers fan, she filled her Sundays with the colors of her team, cheering loud and fiercely. The simple joys of binge-watching TLC, camping under the stars, and soaking in the soothing beauty of the river were also the heartbeats of her life. Each of these activities painted the canvas of her extraordinary life, adorning it with memories that will be treasured forever.
Though the world can feel a little dimmer without her presence, the legacy of love and happiness she leaves behind brightly carries on through her husband, children, extended family, and the countless friends who were touched by her vivacious spirit.
Coco Solorzano, though you have gone from our sight, your laughter, kindness, and unforgettable spark will continue to resonate within us all. May you rest in peace as we celebrate you—the beautiful life you lived, the joy you shared, and the hearts you forever will embrace.
Coco is survived by her husband, Big Daddy; her children: Brittany Solorzano-Ramos, Ishi Garwood, and Jack Solorzano; and her grandchildren: Tori Ramos, Maddie Garwood, Violette Ramos, Baby Alex Garwood, and Blake Solorzano. Coco is preceded in passing by her father, Sergio Heredia.
