Jacqueline Ruth Beck

Jacqueline Ruth (Hartwell) Beck, 77 of Westminster California, was called peacefully home in her sleep to join our Lord Friday morning August 16, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with bone cancer. Her sister Jeanne Psomas preformed the White Sage Blessing ceremony.

Jackie was born in Keene, New Hampshire on May 14, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Ray & Helen Hartwell. She grew up with five sisters and one brother. In December 1948 when Jackie was 12 years old her family moved from New Hampshire to California.

She married Donald J Landsverk on December 25 1952 and they had two children: Connie Ruth and Gregory Alan Landsverk. She married George McLaughlin on October 8,1966 and they had six children: Robert George, Brenda Joyce, Linda Diane, Julie Annette, Gary Wayne, and Deborah Jean McLaughlin. In 1970 she had another son David Raymond Hunt. Jackie married Larry Lee Beck on July 22, 1972 and they had one child: Larry Lee Beck II.

She worked at the Beverly Enterprise Nursing home and in 1990 she was especially proud to receive her certified Nursing Assistant certificate. For a while she also worked at a local donut shop.

Jackie was a devote mother who loved her children unconditionally. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved big family gatherings. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and making all kinds of crafts with them.

Throughout her entire life she loved singing and playing the guitar with her brother, sisters, family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and when it came to growing vegetables, she had the greenest thumb ever. Her Kitty Samantha was an extra joy in her life.

Jackie was preceded in death by: her father & mother: her son Gregory Alan Landsverk of Los Angeles, Ca., her sister Glenna Mae Raleigh of Santa Maria and brother: Michael Ray Hartwell of Bullhead City.

She is survived by: 4 sisters: Barbara Ann Hartwell of Somers, Mt., Linda Joyce VanDortrecht of Omaha, Ne., Jeanne (Bill) Psomas and Elizabeth/Beckie McCormick of Santa Maria, Ca., Five daughter’s: Connie R. (Bob) Besanson Westminster, Ca. Brenda J. (Dave) Wolf of Kissimmee, Fl., Linda D. McLaughlin of Placenta, Ca., Julie A. McLaughlin of Riverside, Ca., Deborah J. McLaughlin of Westminster, Ca. Four sons: Robert G. (Sheila) McLaughlin of Norco, Ca. Gary W. (Chris) McLaughlin of Anaheim, Ca., David R. Hunt of Riverside, Ca., Larry L. Beck, of Norco, Ca. 16 Grandchildren, 9 Great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Jackie’s life memorial will be announced at a later time.
