Joseph Ivory Kennedy Jr., lovingly known as “Tea,” was a light placed on this Earth with intention. Born on September 8, 1998, Joseph lived boldly, loved deeply, and carried a wisdom far beyond his years. On December 3, 2025, his earthly journey came to an end but his spirit, legacy, and light remain eternal.
Joseph had a rare and grounding presence. When he entered a room, the energy shifted. His contagious laugh, calming voice, and gentle spirit made people feel seen, heard, and safe. He was incredibly intelligent so naturally gifted it could make you uncomfortable yet he never judged. Instead, he guided, encouraged, and helped others find their way when they felt lost.
Family was at the center of Joseph’s heart. He loved deeply and nurtured those around him, teaching lessons that continue to guide and strengthen his siblings and loved ones today. As a son, he was devoted, kind, and endlessly caring; as a brother, he was protective, supportive, and wise beyond words. He gave his siblings a voice, taught them how to stand in confidence, and showed them how to move through life with courage, heart, and integrity. His love was a living example of devotion, compassion, and guidance lessons his family will carry forever.
Creative to his core, Joseph expressed himself through writing, poetry, music, and song. His words carried meaning, emotion, and soul, and music was a language he spoke fluently. Cooking shows brought him joy, and long conversations filled with wisdom, humor, and encouragement were among the many ways he connected deeply with others.
An honorary student throughout his life, Joseph held education in high regard and worked tirelessly often balancing two jobs always striving to be better, not only for himself, but for those he loved. He believed deeply in using your voice, standing firm in who you are, and moving through life with strength and purpose.
Joseph was spiritually aware and purpose driven. He understood that life extended beyond what could be seen and walked gently with God, anchored in love and truth. His life itself was the message. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit remains guiding, protecting, and shining. His work here on Earth is complete, and his soul now rests in divine peace.
Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Kennedy, who passed in 1999, and his grandmother, Charmyne Ruff, who passed in 2005.
Joseph Ivory Kennedy Jr. is survived by his loving mother, Denise Moore; his siblings, Shamariah Kennedy, Ahijah Cox, Nahemyah Cox, and Jo’shyah Cox; his grandfathers, Curtis Moore and Gary Kennedy; his grandmother, Marsha Kennedy; his aunties, Connie Melendrez and Paris Kennedy; his uncle, Dante Moore; along with a host of extended family members and friends whose lives were forever changed by knowing and loving him.
Joseph “Tea” Kennedy Jr. will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered for his wisdom, kindness, creativity, unwavering love for his family, and the light he poured into the world.
