Lillian Mary Stednitz

Marie Lillian Rose Therese Duquette Allen Stednitz passed away peacefully at the age of 95

on November, 27, 2018.

Lillian (“Mother”, “Nany”) was born on February 22, 1923 in Southbridge Massachusetts.

She grew up in Arlington, MA and was one of 7 children from the late Elsie Wilkerson and Arthur Duquette.

Lillian married her high school sweetheart, James Gerard Allen, in Newton Massachusetts on January 16, 1943 and had five children: Sandra, Linda, Deborah, James, and Brenda (Bonnie).

In 1955 Lillian and her 5 children moved to California . She attended nursing school and worked at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Orange County, CA for 19 years.

On October 16, 1975 Lillian married Gordon Stednitz, who had 5 grown children of his own, and they spent 20 wonderful years together.

Lillian loved games and enjoyed evenings of fun with friends and family playing canasta, rummy cube and scrabble. All of which she usually won! She also enjoyed a good game of chess and often had days long matches with her son James. She relaxed by playing the organ.

Lillian will be laid to rest at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, 8301 Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach, CA.
