Matt, the day you were born was one of the happiest days of my life.  You came into the world quietly and so calm.  The doctor was stunned as were all of the nurses in the delivery room.  You didn’t cry.  You just looked around and checked things out, yawned, and then whimpered a bit.  That was it!!  When they put you in my arms, it was instant love.  You were the sweetest, most beautiful little guy I had ever seen.  My beautiful baby boy.  

It was a joy being your mother Matt.  There was never a day in your short life that I didn’t marvel at what a spectacular human being you were.  Sweet, loving, kind, funny, beautiful, handsome and a genius in so many ways.  You drove your brothers crazy taking their toys apart trying to figure out how they worked, and they all marveled when you were able to put them back together again and they actually worked!  You were always fixing things, and you loved being able to make things work again,  You tried fixing people in your life too, and were crushed when you finally figured out that you couldn’t fix them.  All you could do is love them and you were disappointed when that wasn’t enough. 

You were my baby Matt.  I gave you your first hug when you came into this world, and I’m so sorry and sad to say I also gave you your last.  I miss your phone calls, I miss your silly text messages, I miss your laughter, and your dumb jokes.  I miss you, Matt, every minute of every single day and I will for the rest of my life.  I love you..

Matt, baby brother.  I wish I knew what happened.  I wish I knew what you were thinking.  I wish I knew you better.  You were the sweetest and most thoughtful of us 4 boys.  I can't and don't want to believe we are now only 3.  I saw you a couple times the week you left us, including the very day, and you were happy and good.  That is how I will remember you.  You would give the shirt off your back to anyone in need.  I can only see the good and wonderful memories of you, mostly from our happy but chaotic childhood.  From you being a jr. jr. lego engineer to being a real-life amazing engineer who seemed to be able to do the impossible, from being the little-boy huckster fighting to have your own youngest voice heard in a house filled with loud-voiced big brothers to always being the funniest guy in the room as adults, I only see the good times.  There are so many.  I will cherish those images, and carry your memory in my heart forever.  I wish you would walk through the door at Hillco one more time, like you have done so many times in my life.  I miss you so much, and I love you.   

Matt was my cousin! Being that we did not grow up close to one another we were not as close as I would have liked. When we did get to see one another it actually was like we did grow up together! Matt was always the one that made me laugh so hard! He had so much compassion towards other people that he actually ALWAYS put himself last!

I am the only girl cousin so of course I ruled the roost when we were together! I have to say my favorite memory is a Las Vegas trip where the family from Texas met the Calif family for our grandmas 80th birthday! This was definitely the best time I had with Matt! The Hill side family has always called me Jenny!! Well of course Matt the whole time we are in Vegas is saying “ Jenny I Love You”, which was from the movie Forest Gump. I laughed every single time he said it to me!! It did not stop on that trip! Anytime I talked to him, which the last time was Christmas he of course ended the conversation with “ Jenny I Love You”. So those were the last words he said to me! 😢 There is a couple of other things he did on this trip which was take his Texas cousins on a tour of bum park in Vegas! Don’t think that was the real name lol but it is what he called it! He actually went around this park a couple times just like a tour guide would do an speak of certain things he saw to make sure we saw them! 
The last one is we were at dinner celebrating grandmas birthday and for some reason he decided to take off all the labels of the condiments and put them on items they did not belong on! I don’t know if it was all the alcohol we all had in our systems, but we all laughed so hard including the parents and grandma of us grown children!
I could go on and on! I just wanted to put this in! Aunt Billie and Uncle Jack are amazing people and parents and kills my soul they are going through this! I know one day we will all be together again!! 
I love you Matt!! You will always be the baby cousin! We will miss you like crazy!

Where do I begin I have so many wonderful memories with you..  From play outside going summing saying up late and just lying on the grass and talking. Sharing our secrets crying laughing together. You were mean to me when we first moved in. Remember that you and Jeff didnt want me to play with you guys so you being you told me "Fine you can play but if you cry you can play with us EVER AGAIN" So I would wait and cry once we all went back inside. Omg remember your loud truck lol it would drive my dad insane lol..

 A light from our lives has gone a voice we loved is still a place is vacant within our hearts which never can be filled. A bouquet of beautiful memories sprayed with a million tears I wish God could have spared you if just for a few more years. We hold you close within our hearts and there you'll remain to walk with us through out our lives until we meet again. So rest in peace dear loved one and thanks for all you've done we pray that God has given you the crown you've truly won. Your vacant place no one can fill we miss you now and always will
