Known for her passion for dancing, traveling, her Faith, love for family, and socializing with friends, Vicky will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Vicky was born in Singangan, Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines on March 30, 1946, to a large family with 9 siblings. She attended and graduated from Philippine Normal College with a degree in Education and married Edmundo Pineda on December 20, 1969. In 1984 Vicky and Ed moved their family to California, where they have resided ever since. She furthered her education and obtained her Master of Education Degree from California State University, Fullerton and continued her teaching career until her deserved retirement in 2010.
Vicky was an accomplished dancer from the age of 18 with her Baranggay Dance Troupe. She traveled the world dancing and performing, for even the kings and queens of countries. In her retirement years, she continued to dance many times a week with her friends. Vicky was also a devout member of St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church. She loved to sing in the choir and participate in community events alongside her fellow Alagad Ni Maria members.
Vicky was a seasoned global traveler, travelling often with her siblings, all over the world to many countries throughout Asia, Europe, on cruises, and even road tripped throughout most of the contiguous U.S. states. Her tenacious passion to experience the culture of wherever she ventured inspired all those around her.
Vicky was immensely proud of her family and cared deeply for all of her children and grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Ed, and is survived by her many siblings, and children, Jed, Leiza, Mon, and Nina, and her grandchildren Bella, Oli, Jonah, Luci, Curren, and Lowen.
Vicky’s memory and legacy will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her. As she would say, “Pray for me as I pray for you”.
