

Adeline Gordon Lineberger, age 96, of Durham and formerly of Lowell, left this world on November 24, 2011 to be with her beloved husband, Marshall Ray Lineberger. Mrs. Lineberger was born in York County, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Summey and Bessie Turner Gordon. She spent most of her life in Lowell, North Carolina, where she worked for Superior Yarns in Mt. Holly, North Carolina and was a cherished member of Cramer Memorial United Methodist Church, Cramerton, North Carolina. Since 2001, she lived in Durham, North Carolina at the Croasdaile Village Retirement Community, where she will be dearly missed by both residents and staff.
Mrs. Lineberger was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 67 years, Marshall Ray Lineberger; son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Gloria Lineberger; three brothers, S. P. Gordon, Ray Gordon and Lewis Gordon; three sisters, Mazelle Clark, Louise Robinette and Nettie Gordon.
Mrs. Lineberger is survived by two grandchildren, Rick Lineberger of Durham and Leslie Ann Lineberger Boyle and husband Frank of Durham; one great grandson, Michael Boyle.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Monday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday at The Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Elise Kennedy officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
