Alda Rose Guffey

A native of Gaston county, she was the daughter of Thomas Gamewell and Zethel Carpenter Stacy.

Mrs. Guffey was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Linda Raxter and husband Henry of Gastonia, Mike Guffey and wife Vicky of Gastonia, Jean Wilson and husband Jim of Villanova, Pa.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Carl Bruce Guffey, Jr.; sisters, Mildred O’Brien, Carrie Parrish; brothers, Lloyd Stacy and Paul Stacy.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Tuesday at Carothers Funeral Home with Rev. David Mason officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery.
