She was born July 14, 1935, to the late James and Minnie (Benfield) Mooneyham. Mrs. Dockery was a loving mother and grandmother. She was known to her grandchildren as “Maw Maw Dockery.” She will be missed by her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Terry Moody and wife Melinda of Ranlo, James Dockery and wife Lisa of Belmont; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Gertrude McHan, Colene Buchanan, Frankie Drum, and brother, Kenneth Anderson and grandson Michael Moody.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia NC 28054.
A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Kingsway Baptist Church, 5030 Fewell Road Lake Wylie, S.C., officiated by the Rev. Jerry Jacquot.
Interment will follow at Edgewood Cemetery, Lowell.
