Momma K was born on March 30, 1933 and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 14, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Leila and Mannie Wright and was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Kiser; and two sisters Lucille Sheaff and Beatrice Humphries.
She is survived by her five children, John “Jackie” Kiser and wife Judy, Denise Yurgel and husband Eddie, Debbie Carver, DeeAnn Yurgel and husband, Jimmy and Mark Kiser and wife Lisa. Momma K was an amazing grandmother to 12 grandchildren and their families and 8 great grandchildren; two sisters Edith Stewart and Frances Bradley; many nieces and nephews who she was not only their aunt but, their true friend.
Momma K “lived” life to the fullest and never met a stranger. Those strangers became friends and her extended family. She and her husband lived a military life and retired in Cosby, Tenn. After his death, she moved to Fredericksburg where she continued to love, nurture, encourage and support her family and friends. Momma K was active in her church, volunteered to serve each Wednesday night dinner and working in the nursery. She also volunteered for hospice and would give her time to others who needed her.
She loved to travel with all of her family and had the opportunity to have great quality time with her son, Jackie in Alaska, where she enjoyed her daily work fishing for her meals, chopping wood for warmth and carrying in her water for a shower and she loved every moment.
Her daily activities included 3 hours a day at the YMCA, where she participated in water aerobics and exercise classes. She loved cooking and was known for her chicken and dumplings. Momma K enjoyed her mornings feeding and watching her birds and her afternoons in her recliner listening to music, playing her Ipad and holding her dog, Gismo. Momma K would end each day reading her Bible, where her faith and true walk in life came from.
