Charlee Hope Ormand Walsh

Born on June 14, 1947, in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late James T. Ormand, Sr. and the late Martha B. Hope Ormand. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Harry Lattimore Ormand; former husband, Donald Lee Walsh; and her in‑laws, Ylia Puig Walsh and Paul Eugene Walsh.

Hope retired from Duke Energy after 36 years of service. She loved the beach and traveling, with fond memories of trips to Myrtle Beach, Galveston and Hilton Head. She had a soft spot for animals who always seemed to sense her gentle nature. Puzzles of every kind delighted her, giving her quiet moments she truly enjoyed. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life, filling her days with pride, laughter, and love. She also carried a giving heart, and she poured it into serving others. Hope will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love for her family, and the warmth she brought to those around her.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hope Walsh Elmore (Bobby Scott); her grandchildren, Bailey Hope Elmore and Sydney Brooke Elmore; her brother, James T. Ormand Jr. (Barbara); her sister, Frances Ormand McSwain (T. Cary); her sister-in-law, Debbie F. Ormand; her cousin, Chris L. Hope (Linda) and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:15 PM at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Dr., Gastonia, NC. A family graveside service will follow at 3:30 PM at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S. New Hope Rd., in the Garden of Mark.
