Dorothy Eileen King Hansford

A native of Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of Filmore M. and Marie Green King.

Mrs. Hansford was a charter member of Linwood Church of God, where she was the Sunday School Secretary and during her time at the church, she held many positions. She retired as bookkeeper from Butler and Stowe CPA and Blair Carr CPA.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Ann Hansford of Gastonia; son, Michael A. Hansford and wife Donna of Wichita, Kansas; sister, Juanita K. Matthews of Cary; sisters-in law, Loretta King, Ann King, Caroline Rhyne; granddaughters, Andrea Dawn Bullok and husband Jeff of Wichita, Kansas, Amy Marie Marsh and husband David of Lancaster, California; great grandchildren, Lauren Grace Bullok, Hannah Michelle Bullok, Lincoln Thomas Marsh, Anthony Joseph Marsh; special niece, Patricia Henley; and other special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Troy Lee Hansford; brothers, Billy King, Paul Edward King, Fletcher M. King, Stanley King; sisters, Kathleen Brackett, Barbara Ann Thackston; and sister-in-law, Dora King.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday at Linwood Church of God with the Revs. Joe Heffner, Wade Easom and Randal Phillips officiating.

Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia.
