Elva Childers

Elva was born in Graham County, NC to the late Richmond P. Anderson and the late Lucy Jane Farr. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Childers; son, Dennis James Childers; daughter, Betty Childers; granddaughter, Kayla Miller; brothers, Donald Anderson; and sisters, Christine Phillips and Zonia Phillips.

Elva is a long-time church member of North Gaston Church of God. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her for being a very caring and selfless woman, as well as a great role model for her grandchildren to look up to.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 11:00 am to 11:45 am at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, located at 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location, beginning at 12:00 pm with a burial to follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Childers, and Brenda Kay Frazier (Gerald); as well as her granddaughter, Amber Bumgardner (Dale).
