Geraldine Norman

Nancy Geraldine Abernathy Norman went to her heavenly home on October 4, 2016. She was born August 24, 1932 in Dallas, North Carolina. She graduated from Dallas High School in Dallas, North Carolina in 1950 and attended Everette Junior College and CPCC. She worked for the Boeing Aircraft Company and then worked for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System where she retired as a secretary bookkeeper from Olympic High School after 30 years of service. She was a member of Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, the Steele Creek American Legion Post 221 Ladies Auxiliary and the Steele Creek Historical and Genealogy Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Clarke Norman.

Mrs. Norman is survived by one son: Edward and Nanette Norman and of Union, South Carolina; stepson: Randy and Jan Hughes and family of Taylors, South Carolina; grandsons: Zack Norman of Charlotte, North Carolina and Joey Cummings and family of Norwood, North Carolina; granddaughter: Rachel and Justin Sauls of Garner, North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, October 7, 2016 at Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church with Reverend Luke Maybry delivering words of comfort to the family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM ~ 12:00 PM prior to the service.

A private committal and graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM prior to both the service and visitation at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Dr. Jeff Pinkston officiating over the service.
