Harold was born in Gaston County, NC on February 8, 1933 to the late Fred D. Fulbright Sr. and Ruby D. Fulbright. He graduated from Lowell High School in Lowell, NC.
Harold served in the Navy from 1953 until 1957. He was aboard the USS Helena during his service years.
Harold was married to Zelphia Mae Gittens Fulbright.
He had a career in the Trucking Industry. He worked for Akers Motor Lines for 19 years and Burlington Industries for 17 years.
After retirement, Harold loved and enjoyed serving his community by volunteering his time with Meals on
Wheels for 20 years as well as volunteering to transport cancer patients to and from their treatments.
He was very passionate about gardening and spending quality time with family and friends.
Harold is survived by his children, Ellen Darnell Fulbright of Gastonia, Harold Dean Fulbright Jr. and wife Debbie of Lowell, Janeen Fulbright Silver and husband Jimmy of Lincolnton, Joanna McLean Fulbright of Lowell, Rene Brooks Beheler and husband Dwight of Waxhaw.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lacie Silver Bryson and husband Brandon, Brooke Silver, David Palmer and wife Alma, Matthew Beheler and wife Abby. As well as great grandchildren, Aiden Beheler, Addison Palmer, and arriving in August Callie Bryson.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his wife, Zelphia G. Fulbright; brothers, Fred D. Fulbright Jr. and Billy R. Fulbright Sr.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm. A committal service will immediately follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
